[#2900447]

I'm doing the Marshbrook CRC Marathon on Sunday. I've signed up to do the 50k with a mate who's new to riding and who's never done anything like this before.
Thing is, i'm divided, should i take the lightweight bike and step up to the 70k and leave him to do the 50k on his own or should i stay on the 50k and take it easy, giving him support?

Suppose thats a daft question really!

do 70k - you may finish around same time.

IMHO it will drive you mad riding 50k in support at 70% pace.

If i take the big bike it'll slow me down, plus it looks like its gonna be a nice day and i've never ridden around the Long Mynd before.
Think i'll take it easy, enjoy the view and help a newbie enjoy his first marathon ๐Ÿ™‚ I can always go full pelt at the next one ๐Ÿ˜‰
