Saint/XT cranks- I can't find the large washes that sit between the arm itself and the pedal thread. Essential or can you ride without them?

Race Face Evolve cranks need them, but Atlas and Deus don't. I was told that this is because the Evolve is a 'softer' metal and the washer stops the pedal gauling the metal.
Can't comment on Shimano cranks though.

nah dont bother. Ive lost them on pretty much all my cranks. Just dont over tighten your pedals
