Weekend riding with the kids, mtb Saturday with both. Found a new trail so that was good.
Road ride with my son this morning, then the rest of the day pottering in the garden.

Out yesterday bimbling around south wiltshire. Longest ride of the year so far (35 miles) with a few hills and a potter through Grovelly Woods following the old roman road. Spent today fettling.

Just back from the HONC with sunburnt knees and tired legs. An absolutely outstanding day on the bike with cracking weather and great company throughout. The organisation was top notch from start to finish with so many cheery volunteers. Definitely going back next year.

Lowey - Nice pics. We're hoping to do that (or a very similar) loop before the end of the month. The scree off Skidaw is a great first challenge after the climbing.

First ride of the year following shoulder surgery, so a short pootle on Mellor Moor. Busy up there with walkers, bikers, horses. Very pleasant though. Was anyone here on the Bike Orienteering event that was obviously going on? Intended to do a bit of a relaxed spin on the road bike this afternoon but got sucked into Paris Roubaix.

Today I went out with family - I was out all day with my bro yesterday. Scenery was pretty special on Saturday - with an unusual POV for me. The weather was excellent although the activity was a bit of an anti-climax TBH.

Sunny singletrack on Saturday with my buddies from Kent then Barton Hills today including spotting a biffer in an orange bikini by the stream at Oughton Head... Riding proving to be a great distraction from worrying about 83 year old mum in hospital after head butting a concrete step and fracturing her skull (I have been visiting her as well!)

Did Swinley Blue & Red on Saturday with my lads.

Today I had a local bimble around the Chilterns. Lovely weather, Chilterns now dry (unusual for April!), bluebells just starting to show.

Two great rides

@willv, saw your photos on fb - been planning to do a very similar route post exams in May! Looked like a stunning day out.

I built up a ss and took it up to Carron Valley for a quick shakedown/ to see if I could actually ride it up hills. Thinking the 34/16t gearing might be a bit too steep - only had to push once but Carron is hardly full of monster climbs..

@slowoldman ๐Ÿ™‚ only 8 left to lamb so thought I could risk an afternoon off. Of course one of them decided to have triplets while I was away but Mrs Farmer is more than capable of sorting it out.

Too many aches and pains for a proper ride today so did some local pentlands singletrack and some trail maintenance instead. Nice day to drag log blockages off a trail...

A day of two halves yesterday. Pennine Bridleway in the sunshine (not all of it ๐Ÿ™„ ) to meet with the Mary Towneley loop, round that. The weather changed as I was heading up Rooley Moor to Cragg Quarry and all a bit cool from then on as I'd only a short sleeved top. Then back home.

Having a rest day today ๐Ÿ˜†

No pics, but saturday was riding in Tokyo - up Mt Hakone in the foothills of Fuji in monsoon rain.

Flew home yesterday, but this morning out riding at 8AM on Bexhill seafront with my youngest, who is finally getting into bikes. He rode head on into a brick wall, OTB headfirst & cracked his helmet on the wall. Then wobbled at the sight of width restorections and hit a parked Range Rover 8O.

He loved it all!!

Rivi again today, normally I'd be getting bored but it's wonderful being able to ride my favourite trails dry and flat out for the first time in months.

Up staying with the gf in Scotland. Nipped out early today and caught a nice lap of Dalbeattie. The slab was significantly drier than the last time I was here.

Half term here.

The last few days have included Ben Cleuch/Andrew Gannell Hill, Comrie, Dumyat and Glentress. Mainly bikes, some feet. Awesome to see littlest_OAB suddenly find his pedals - ripping the place up on his new Specialized FSR and middle_OAB, normally a reluctant rider also suddenly deciding that much fun is to be had on wheels, and that he can climb like a whippet on new Santacruz Superlight. More sun than expected, even if its been cold.

The week had started with a DofE Silver exped, that eldest_oab took part in and has to put up with his old man being the Supervisor. Of course the only way to keep an eye on three groups going in different directions is to use two wheels...
