hi has any one had a cracked repaired

had my chainstay, clean snap by the seatstay, welded by my local mot garage
and its been fine ever since
that was a steel frame

I know steel can welded up as good as new for mtb use.

Aluminum not as easy=recycling time.

Sucks. Could be worse if its a carbon frame-shatters on you.

What frame material gregs891?

I cracked an Inbred, Brant wanted it back, I think eventually they all went back to Taiwan to be recycled

I cracked the frame on my Kona Stinky twice (by the head tube and the rear disc mount snapped) and had a guy in Edinburgh repair it for me. Cant remeber the guys details but he is a friend of my father in law so i'll find out tommorow and get back to you. The guy used to build custom motorcycle frames. Still got the stinky and my son uses it now, you would never know it had been repaired!

Sorry for the delay in getting back! Guy who fixed my frame had an accident and can't work any more!
