My Planet X has never made a sound, now it creaks like mad. And I've noticed what looks like cracks where the chainstays meet the bottom bracket shell. And a odd white line 13" long down the downtube. You can feel both if you run a finger over them.

Is this just likely to be cracks in the lacquer?

Stripped, lubed and reassembled the chainset and bottom bracket, just in case.

The creaking could be the front mech cable rubbing where it goes through the bb shell/seattube.

I put some plastic tube over mine and it stopped it creaking

Seatpost as well? Or is it only when out of the saddle?

Bar/Stem interface is also well worth a look.

Yep, any good LBS will be able to properly diagnose the issue. Where are you based?

Not the bars/stem
does it out of the saddle.
Doesn't do it when locked into the Turbos.
It's that distinctive cracking sound you hear when you free a bolt or loosen a seatpost.
