I'm in a worse position, really want a flare, but only 26" bits - no way I can justify changing.

Keep and eye out, find a Rocket26 and put 140mm forks on it?

Slackboy, there are people (well, at least one) running the Rocket 275 frame on 26 running gear...

So nothing for regular (non Boost) 29er wheels?

It's not an argument . It was a decent conversation.

Only on STW could this be mis-construed as an argument over 0.2 inches
FTFY.

the thread is still young 😉

Something very aesthetically pleasing about those that's missing from all yer curvy-for-the-sake-of-it carbon bikes. Very nice indeed 😀

Those all look flipping ace and I hope they sell stacks of 'em. Love my Rocket 275, but I'd still be quite interested in demoing the RocketMax by way of comparison...

Also, cracking choice of stock photoshoot location there.

I was in the market for a longer travel 29er last year.
Would have bought the cotic in a heartbeat, it looks stunning.
Seem to remember i had a minor grumble the rocket wasn't available in wagon-wheels

Bought a five29 instead, which is awesome.

Telling myself i dont need a rocketMax frame...

Strange bike as it looks ace in the second picture, from behind but a right old minger from the side in the top one.

you know that feeling you get, when you're still excited about your new shiny best-bike-ever, and then you see it's replacement?

that.

So nothing for regular (non Boost) 29er wheels?

My reading of the bike specs is that only the Platinums are Boost (Gold & Silver 29ers are 100mm axle, unless you go Plus).

If you want to run a 2.8" at any point then a boost is going to make that possible...

This what happens after only 10 hours with a Nobby Nic (on i35 rim) in '12 Reba. I now want boost... 🙄

ETA: duh, forgot about the boost rear. 😳

So, no, I guess...

Must admit I'm definitely wanting a MAX frame (either would do me).

Fortunately the lack of 3.0" compatibility on the back is stopping me... (well that and not having £3k+ spare) 😳

Have to agree with matther01 - the tabs on underside of TT are completely redundant for me, either go with internal routing or external only. I wish Cotic would actually create some clean lines instead of just saying so.

Admittedly these things annoy me more than most.

Don't forget that the top tube bosses are also for a water bottle cage.

I know lots of people (Cy included) don't use bottles, but for the rest of us those bosses are essential.

Are they going to be releasing any photos of the bikes that arnt in soft-focus. There is one shot where the only thing in actually focus is the mudguard! Be nice to see the different size frames shown also (or at least state what sizes are in the photos we have) so we can tell how big the brace is/isn't on different sizes.

+1

You can add Shand to that also. If you are going to build 'nice' looking bikes then a spaghetti junction of cables is a no no in my book.

Cy will double check that we have everything in stock, and get back to you to arrange payment and delivery.

I'm going to do my best to get a flare, through re-jigging of existing stock and various devious plans, and will probably run 26" wheels short term, I'm a cotic fan, I like the way the bikes look and ride.

But, I agree about the website, it is a little bit poor in terms of the product content, some actual studio shots with the bikes built up to the same or similar spec in the various sizes and colours would be nice. I appreciate it's relatively low volume and they're aren't going to build every combo, but a bit more than what's on there at present would be nice.

It's a steel frame. Get a frame builder to modify it how you want.

Lots of hires versions of the photos on Flickr there.

If you want to know what size, of which model, are in the photos, let me know and I'll look.

Fair enough as I hadn't checked. In which case the original red bike looks horrendous , where as the others are interesting.

I believe the red bike is an extra large!

Maybe so but it looks rancid. A huge problem for me as big bikes always seem to look mince.

It is indeed. For an XL 29er i think looks perfectly in proportion and it comes in my favourite colour - [s]blood[/s] candy apple red.

It'll be my first 29er, my first taste of tubelessness and the first bike that actually fits me. It doesn't arrive for a few weeks but it's already the grippiest, fittiest, bestest, fastest bike ever in the world. Ever 😛

curvy-for-the-sake-of-it carbon bikes.

to be fair to carbon, it does work better in "organic shapes"

Boost is a bit of a halfway there standard as its not enough out back to get you more than from say a 2.5 > 2.8, without some shenanigans with chain stays going over/under the chainset
My Pact begs to differ. 3" on a Scraper and no clearance problem.

The pact with the plate chainstay? id call that some weird shenanigans.

I'm pretty sure Ben is talking about FS bikes. There's plenty of HTs that can take 3.0" with standard 135QR rear.

Absolutely - I would happily do this to a used frame that needed refreshing. Not on a box fresh £1500 frame though.

Don't forget that the top tube bosses are also for a water bottle cage.

Are they? They don't look like they are spaced for a bottle cage (plus there are 3 visible tabs) but if that is the case then fair enough.

Good geometry on the new bikes.

Though the ST length on the large would preclude me from getting the bike with the reach I need, unfortunately.

Will.buy.

... But which one? The flare because it's right for most of my riding (peaks) or a rocket for the rare overseas adventures (planning to go to Vancouver next year so Whistler must be sampled and also want to ride the Pyrenees)...

Anyone got theirs yet?

Zombie thread bump...

Is anyone riding a Flare with 26" wheels? I seem to have it in my head that I'd quite like one 😡

edit- also, anyone with a small frame with a bottle cage fitted?
