Just looked on the Cotic website at the Solaris and noticed its out of stock.

Have there been any rumours or whispers of a new model hope inheriting the new Soul geometry and style?

I had the exact same question for Cotic.
Paul got back to me with a blank response..

Thanks for your interest in the SolarisMAX. We have medium frames coming into stock in mid to late March.

If you sign up to the newsletter you'll here about when they arrive and any updates first.

So they aren't giving anything away. I fully expect an updated version though, especially after the large Soul updates, plus I hate the current colours. Fingers crossed!

I think that was me and it was about the new BFe26 (which would explain why you can’t find it... 😆 ).

on the other recent thread I gave my own thoughts...

Looks like it's a waiting game!

If they did one in british racing green, with a couple of bottle cage mounts under the down tube so I could rock it as a bikepacking rig I'd snap their hands off, updated geometry or not 🙂

Still. I'm toying with the idea of a surly krampus for that. I like the idea of 29+ rather than 27.5+. But I'm a cotic fanboi and I've wanted a solaris ever since my Mk2 got nicked.

Many of us think there will be. Recent Soul revision, Solaris discounted ... Cotic also upgraded the BFe 26 so they’ve been busy

Is there anything wrong with the current Solaris (availability aside)?

Not in my opinion but then I am riding two 2012 bikes with 26” wheels and I think they are just fine

Long stays, long seat tube and shortish reach for starters (imo)

Agree with the second two points but really like the long stays and they're unlikely to change anyway.

Longs stays are fundamental to the design / purpose of the bike surely ?

Current geometry "isn't on trend",saying that the mk2 I had rode just fine - great bikes.

if I’m completely honest about things as much as I loved my mk1 solaris it was short and even with a 65mm stem and 782mm wide bars I needed a layback seatpin on my medium and as a result the front end was always light on steep climbs, so much so that in some instances I would virtually be manually up a hill.... 🤪

The SolarisMAX I got in large and it was elongated in this iteration to differentiate more between sizes and feels pretty much right with a 60mm stem and an in-line pin. I bought it as a bikepacking mule, it’s been built primarily to fulfill that function with Barend ergo grips and tape all over the place to stop rub. However, if I put my hand on my heart it’s not exactly fleet and seems slow to steer when unburdened of its luggage (maybe as compared to the more compact mk1 medium). I’ve also a B+ Sherpa and that (although never really managed to get a comfortable position) provides a more engaging ride on the tech.

if there’s a new geo version coming I’m definitely interested to try it 🕺🐏

Considering how active the Cotic guys have been on threads about the new Soul, and how silent on threads about a possible new Solaris - I know where I'd put my money.

Is it me or does it have a LOT of hose/cable retainers on the frame??

Still nice though!👍

Damn, now I really don’t know what colour to go for. The dark metal is not the black gold I was expecting! Definitely hard to describe... I do love that green. Ggnahhh!

nice to see more useable bottle cage locations as well. HA looks about right... not much chance of toe overlap!

not long to wait now then 🤪
