Quite simply, the perfect mtb........

It would be pretty close to perfect if it had better tyre clearance

What size tyres would you want to run on it?

My tyres are 2.2" - wouldn't want to go wider............

pete68 no worries think my mind is made up,
Now do i buy a simple frame as currently running SS or solaris with tensioner.
Think the later has more options added to the fact that the blue is to die for.

They are still the only 29" I've seen that doesn't look ridiculous (admittedly not seen one yet in the flesh).

Thought i could ignore this thread, but now I'm thinking i should sell the soul and start a new build. Will probably spend weeks agonising over the cotic website. Nice looking bikes, is there an obvious difference in the ride between the soul and solaris?

From the Cotic website:

Large diameter, thinwall air hardening True Temper OX Platinum steel tubing with Reynolds 853 Ovalform top tube combines with ultra compact frame layout for a supple yet precise ride feel.

Can anyone recommend or suggest a set of tyres for my new Solaris + Reba 120mm? I've bought some Hans Dampf 2.35s but they're too big. Rims are Flow Ex.

I want some big robust tyres that I can run tubeless without any bother.

Done all the usual internet research but as always there are people who love those who hate just about every tyre out there so it's quite confusing.

Alan, yup, forks reduced to 120 travel. I've not ridden it yet 🙁 So no idea what they feel like other than having had a quick pogo on them in the workshop.

Some lovely bikes on here. Nice to be reminded of the orange ones too. [Massively obvious comment alert] I love that colour.

In answer to the tyres question - For dryish riding, I love Maxxis IKONs, especially the EXO 3C ones. Right now my Solaris is wearing Bontrager XR Muds which are ace winter tyres. Really want to try the 2.2 Conti Mountain King 2 now they're available in 29".

Arg, they all look brilliant. 6foot-ers, what size are you all riding? Medium Soul was too small for me, but from riding a mate's medium Specialised Carve, I think a medium Solaris may do the trick...

I am 5 11.5 and agonised over size. Went for a mwdium in the end ^ with 80mm stem and 710 bars. Feels very chuckable and not too short but I could prob ride a large quite comfortably with a shorter stem. It was tricky to decide as I am used to a 19 seat tube but somehow you need to downsize frame a bit with a 29er provided you've got the reach.
