I am very tempted by one of the new Solaris as I don't have a hardtail and really fancy something fast and short travel. Does anyone have a recent alacarte Paint frame? I'm curious about what the matt finish looks like of anyone has gone down that avenue?

Like the idea of a crimson Solaris with everything else black.

My Cascade is the matt Lichen. I like it. Holding up well after 3 years use in all conditions. I like the idea of the a la carte but wouldn't know where to start with colour choices!

Just moved back to Perth so can't really pop on sadly.  That looks lovely in a nice understated way.

Have a look back through Cotic's social media posts - they've shared plenty of a la carte examples which I find mighty tempting. But I do like the understated/classy looks of my current Cascade too much to consider changing. Perhaps go wild with a refresh in a few years.

My RocketMAX is matte Crimson with black graphics. I tend to ride it, not take photos of it though... I'll see if I can find one...

Nope, nothing useful. My ride photos seem to be mostly views, food, beer and other folk looking demi-rad on the trail. I’ll ask if someone else has one. For now…

Dunno about Cotic specifically but I find matt colours hard to clean, fwiw. Also does frame wrap work matt colours? I'd much prefer to get a gloss paint job with a matt wrap, if matt is the preference.

I've had 2 matt Santa Cruz frames wrapped with matt Invisiframe kits.  Both looked good and were easy enough to keep clean.

The missus has a gloss crimson ala carte UK Escapade. Just under a year old and we've helitaped the obvious wear points, so so far its holding up pretty well.

The colour itself is glorious. It looks quite restrained under normal light, then you take it out in the sun and there's a magenta sparkle that comes out. Really nice.

Going back a few years my BRG matte SolarisMax didn’t have the greatest paint. The silver chrome look replacement was a lot better… but on the FB group other people had opposite experiences. So I’d say inconsistent. But it was a few years back so may not be relevant.

I’ve got an amethyst FlareMAX with matt paint. This wasn’t à la carte, but I presume it’s the same finish. It’s beautiful paint and one year later still looks great and makes me smile. I’m not precious about cleaning my bikes, as mentioned the matt finish might be harder to keep spotless. But with the dark colour, I’m quite happy with a quick hose down this time of year.

Ok so the crimson does look lovely, that's one decision at least. im pretty crap at washing bikes etc so the harder to clean aspect is something albeit trails here are mostly dust!

That Flaremax is lovely, growing up in the Chilterns bluebell woods will always be close to my heart.
