So I asked my LBS to convert my setup whilst doing a few other things and doesn't seem to have worked. No matter how hard I try to adjust the FD, it just won't stop rubbing or not shifting accurately.

I'm running slx m666 3x10 shifters, 3x10 FD, 38/26 XT rings and XT long cage RD.

Other than take it to LBS again, is it worth investing in a 2x10 FD?

Cheers

I'm running same as you but with a dedicated double front mech, which is angle optimised for these smaller overall rings (ie no 42 or 44 on the double)

No rub here. Works great.

When I went to 2x10 I found trimming the (3x10) FD a pain. I could get it set up OK but it seemed to go out of alignment all the time and became a huge faff. I swapped to a 2x10 specific SLX FD and now have no issues. Other than the odd cable change it's virtually maintenance free.
