Hi Chaps,
After destroying a RS X-King today, I'm in the mind that I need to go UST - but.... how much protection does the protection actually give against sidewall tears?
I slashed a good size cut in the side of an X-King today, full lean on slate...

The Protection casing is thinner than the UST but it's stiffer and feels tougher (RQ UST vs X-King Protec.) Having had normal Speed Kings in the past and been driven mad by thorn and snakebite punctures I wouldn't bother with an even lighter Racesport casing, even for racing!
