I am currently trying to set my pompino up with a similar fit to my road bike (boardman). hence my questions about bars and things yesterday.
they have different ett 555 as against 570. the boardman has a 90mm stem. does that mean if i stick a 105 mm stem on the pomino i have the same reach?
what measurements do i need to take to replicate fitting saddle to stem maybe?
cranks. i have 165 on the fixed bike and 172.5s on the geared bike. do i just want to leave this alone?
and photos of pompinos with ergo bars would be appreciated.
please help i feel stupid!
please help. i feel more stupid with no replies!!
so far i have measured lots of things and i think the bar drop and reach both need to be increased to matvh that on the other bike.
however the seat angle/ crank lengths are different is this going to make it weird/ feel different?
I wouldn't worry about cranks for now, get everything else perfect and then they might be an issue. the longer stem you mention will give you the same length but handle differently (slower steering). It's a good starting point for set up. Seat wise the height will be different (due to crank length if nothing else) so it's harder to replicate. Measure the saddle to bar distance as well, figure the correct height use the fore and aft to match this and then see how it feels.
Try and set it up to match and then you'll have to ride and tweak it so it feels the same/how you like. I don't think you'll be able to get both bikes identical without them feeling very odd.
