I rode from Rammy to our dentist in Swinton a month or so ago. Is fine on road to the m60 where you go through philips park to near the prison, then back on quietish roads. Probably about an hour-ish.

If u give me your email I prob have the route file somewhere.

Cheers, my email is dclamb2275 at hotmail dot com

Was looking around the other day and trying to spot some decent routes for night rides, looks like it's got plenty of trails etc round the surrounding hills, looking forward to it!

Yep, there's some decent riding from Rammy. You can get up on the moors towards Crag and Lee Quarries and the MTL one way or over towards Darwen and Rivvi the other way.

off road - head towards greenmount, old railway to Bury, dodgy bit over the interchange, canal to Radcliffe (Irwell Sculpture Trail/River Irwell) all the way to Pendlebury. I could knock up a rough GPS track if you want) or put some linkys in.

On road - Bury, whitefield, over M60 at J17, follow your nose all the way to the middle of manchester.

I know the route from radcliffe to salford (I live in Prestwich at the mo) following NCN6 up the old railway line but it is like a bog in winter!

Can't wait to move out of Manchester and live near to some proper hills again.

Rammy is a riding mecca

1 hour into manchester approx depending on your speed and how far you're going, theres more uphill on the return though.............. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not directly relevant, but I did this road ride from Rammy recently, and it was a cracker.
