I'm looking to replace an RP23 with a coil shock. I'd like to spend c.£300 max, any suggestions.

despite costs its surely difficult to look past ccdb?
Bos has iffy UK service

A 2nd hand CCDB, or buy a cheap Fox or Marzocchi coil shock and get it TF Tuned.
