I'm not certain if it's the cause of my problem, but I'd like to wrap the ends of the spring in my RockShox Totem in something incase it is rattling - any suggestions what to use?
Don't have any suitably sized inner tubes or heatshrink. Will wrapping electrical tape around it work, or could the adhesive cause problems?

Use heatshrink and grease to quieten it down, electrical tape will probably come of and just get stuck in the forks.
