My local ride is clent but never ventured over to lickeys, is it possible to ride from clent to lickeys using mainly off road routes? I would be starting from halesowen. If it is does anyone have any routes i could use?

Cheers

I used to ride from Clent to Lickey - mainly offroad when I lived a bit closer.
You nip over the M5 just down from the Manchester Inn and head over Waseley Hills direction iirc.

Sorry - I've not ridden that route for over 10 years now...
Pretty straightforward though tbh.
You could head up from Sling Common way or down from Romsley, over the m/way and follow the bridleways from there to Waseley and then Rubery. Bit of road then to the nearest bit of Lickey.
Have a nose on Streetmap, you'll work it out easy enough.

It is as franki says, though you will do well to not encounter some cheekyness along the way!

I rode it a month or two back and it's easily doable with some nice bits of offroad. Lickeys has some fun riding but like Clent it's very uppy-downy without much flow and local knowledge is key. The Wyre forest offers far better trails if you ever get over there.

MicArms off here is the chap you want as i followed him on his route. He may well have a route map he can send to you if he sees this thread.

look for miles 18 -24 for the route across, bit of cheeky footpath use from 22 to 24, but I won't tell if you dont..
if you want, email me and I'll send you the GPX route of it..

Lickeys to M5 is easy off road, motorway is a bit of a spanner in the works though
