Noticed that my right foot is loose in the pedal when clipped in. The cleat doesn't come out, but there's quite a bit of movement. I've tried taking the cleat off the shoe, cleaning etc and putting back on, was good for 1 ride but now back to the wobble. They're Shimano pedals - about 3 or 4 years old (the XTR pedal before they actually called it the XTR).
Are the cleats just worn? The left foot is fine. Hopefully the pedals don't need replacing (can hear the wallet screaming!)
Ideas welcome!
yes - the cleat is worn
you can tighten the springs on the pedal via a little allan bolt thing - but be careful to clear all the mud out the bolt head properly 1st as they are easy to round off
but if you are on the same cleats that came with the pedals you are doing well - just replace them
i find my left cleats wear put first on mountain, and road bikes - think it is because normally put left foot down when stopped etc
Cheers guys, will give changing the cleats a go.
