Hello all,

Got a pair of Shimano MW5's which on the whole are great apart from the neoprene gaiter stinks to the point I'm banned from bringing them in the house.

I usually rinse the muck off with a hose whilst cleaning the bike and have taken to drying them in the garage with a portable heater. I'd like to clean it properly though - would soaking the neoprene gaiter section in something like oxyclean help?

If I can remove most of the stick then I'll hopefully be able to store them indoors sealed in an airtight box or something (the garage gets damp over winter).

How do you clean yours?

Cheers!

Try white vinegar, I use it to give the washing machine a blast at 90 degrees, if it can get rid of soap scum, it should be fine with neoprene.

Maybe worth a look on a diving forum? wetsuits must suffer the same.

Edit - there you go, dicky 48 secs quicker!
