What to use? Been a while since I last took the dropper post out but did it today. It was a little stiff to get moving but not too bad, reason being the inside of seat tube is coated with a thin layer of grinding paste i.e. silt mixed with whatever assembly paste was used when bike was new.
Bearing in mind that whatever I use, a certain amount is probably going to remain inside the bottom of the raw carbon frame. What is the best product to clean it out with? Re-assembly with carbon gripper paste or something else?
A rag on a stick and some degreaser should do it. Any residue wiped off with a damp cloth.
But what kind of degreaser is safe on carbon? I was thinking IPA maybe?

That may well be the carbon assembly paste, mine is full of particles that feel a bit gritty, I think it's intended to improve grip/clamping without torquing up the bolt.
For cleaning I just use baby wipes and old rags...
Rag on stick/warm soapy water. Nothings going to be harmed by warm soapy water and a bit of wiping.

Yeah, I have some of that gritty assembly paste but this is definately sandy type stuff in the seat tube.
