[Closed] Chumba VF2 What should I do with it?

I've listed it on the classifieds a few times and eBay twice, now it seems that nobody likes Chumbas. (except Si at progressive of course)

Am I asking too much, was only up for £999 with a best offer option but I didn't even get any offers.

Apparantly there's a new link out that slackens it and lowers the bb, with that on it and a shorter stem I could probably live with it but it's all stripped and ready to go and I've just built a blue pig up with the bits and I'm really liking that. I've also promised myself a Turner RFX next year when the new one comes out.

Just debating wether to relist it and how many times or wether it's worth offering it internationally, but given the state of the pound would it really be worth anything.

**Note to self** Get a test ride before you buy anything in future!

Any advice?

Thats the best offer I've had so far, don't really want to go much lower than what I was asking, it's only 3 rides old!

Surely Si can help you out? Must have lots of interest?

EDIT 50% off would be STD.

I watched a couple of similar Chumba frames go for ~£300 on ebay, so you'll probably have to take closer to that amount if you really want/need to sell it.

Not really a reflection on the frame's quality - just the brand hasn't built up a reputation in the UK (yet?).

When I saw it, couldn't help thinking that without the coil on it I wouldn't be interested.
Looks great with the coil shock on however but you are going to lose either way I'm afraid.

Hope you get a bite on it soon, good luck

Chumba deserves a better reputation and profile that they currently have but Si looks to be doing a pretty good job.

Thing is this is less of a problem of the brand and more about how you're selling it.

The trick with eBay is that you need to first generate interest and get people bidding. You do that most effectively by starting the auction at zero pence, that way people don't have to make that first mental leap to a high price and they get there in steps.

Of course it's an auction so you may not get as much as you want for it. You have to ask yourself if you really want to sell it. If you're not using it and never intend to use it, then surely whatever you can get for it is a good price?

Anyway, why are you selling, I thought they were really good frames?

Si does alot to hype them on here, but is there any coverage on mags? Are they in shops?

It might get your ad cancelled on ebay, but did you say what other frame/manufacturers it was similar too? Most people who would be looking for frames will recognise Orange 5. Santa cruz blur etc... and if you say it is like those it might help?

As said above it's most likely down to the fact people haven't heard of it before.

what others have, said starting price is too high for a frame with so little exposure/reputation. Whether it is as nice as or better than an Orange, Santa Cruz etc is a moot point, more people have heard of and want them than Chumbas. I bet all your watchers/viewers were STWers who'd already seen it here and followed you link, so like DT says a cheeky "not orange, santa cruz, trek" in the title/subtitle might get a few more hits.
Good luck.

I would love this frame, in fact I've told Filthy I'd love it but short of offering my services as a hitman I have no way of getting it I'm about 600 quid short of his estimation. I can offer £400, a newly powdercoated 456 summer season and a set of Hope mono M4s but I somehow don't think that is enough.
