Couldn't you still use a 26" wheel at the front though?

Yeah. It's not my bike. The tyre diameter is maybe 5mm less than a 2.4HR2 in 26". Feels a bit heavy. I need to grab a go on it but it think the pressures are still a bit high. 25psi
