What size Chisel or Epic  Evo for a 5 ’5.5” rider, I have a small Trance X at the moment but would like a lighter bike for my local rides. Reach seems very short for the small size Specialized bikes but the seat tube is quite a bit slacker. I like the seating position of my Trance and don’t want to be too stretched out on the Specialized if practical as I tend to get neck problems. Specialized sizing suggests a small but a couple of phone calls to dealers have erred on the medium.

Couple of very recent threads on the subject:

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/what-size-specialized-chisel-do-i-need/

I only know this cos I was following those threads too and just bought a Chisel!

I'm 5'7 and ride a small. I'm probably on the limit for it but imo they have a long top tube and for me a medium would have been too stretched out.

I’m 5’9” on a medium epic evo here, it’s the right size for me. Can’t imagine a 5’5” person being comfortable on it, I think the spesh size guide is spot on - you likely need a small.

As goldfish says, 5.9 and a medium is perfect

5'6" and a half here in medium with a Chisel. Straight bars and 70mm stem fits me perfectly for what I use it for.
