Did about 25 miles starting from Stonor and it was -5deg C, quite cold but had a very good ride. Was amazed on how good the traction was, would have thought that on frozen ground would have been the opposite. Anyway here is a pic or two.
Nice one, I've just come back from wendover woods, I can confirm it's dam cold on the chilterns, but the views are stunning in crisp wintervision.
Went out from Watlington, it was as dry as a bone, cracking ride, but effing cold. Empty of folks as well, couldn't have seen more than 10 people all day
I'm dead jealous, I must get to the Chilterns again soon!
mutley - is that the road from the Nature Reserve with the pig of a climb on the left that leads towards Maidensgrove?
iRideSpesh - is the second one near the reservoir in Great Wood, close to Hambledon?
Lovely pics, makes me more determined to get back on the bike after a year off.....damn this knackered hip.
cinnamon_girl, the very same, cunningly avoided by going the other way . great descent from the top heading east though
No wonder I was cold Sunday morning if it was -5 ! Did an hour from Watlington - it was lovely to ride in the dry and a lovely morning. My feet were numb by the time I got home though.
If anyone's doing a ride from Watlington let me know. (I live there but don't really ride anywhere else as 2 small children plus a husband training for triathlon limit it a bit!)
Right, thats it, Im inspired to go out on my bike now.
Watly_biker - will let you know when I am about for a bike ride.
Trimix - I live in Oxford also, maybe we can arrange a bike ride sometime.
