Popping to Verbier this weekend, need some cheap accommodation for just saturday night for 3 people.
Any ideas? Thanks.
In verbier, cheap doesn't really exist. You can camp somewhere near the sports centre I think.
The bottom of the valley is cheaper, but you need to factor in the lift from there to Verbier - there are buses that go up the hill pretty regularly too.
Yeah I'm finding that. Right in the village is expensive, down the bottom of the hill is far more reasonably priced. Do you know how late into the night the lift and buses keep operating?
Thanks for your help.
I've no idea I'm afraid - my mates place is in Verbier itself & he has a car so never had the need to use them from the bottom. I think the last bus up meets the last train. There are taxis though again, never used them.
If you can figure out the crap website, this is the cable car company:-
and the swiss train website lists bus times too

The lift from Verbier to Ruinette is currently open 9-16.30 on the weekends.
There is also a pumptrack championships and cheese festival this Saturday which is always fun. I would recommend staying down in the valley as there is much more going on down here than in Verbier at the moment.
You could try a BnB in Le Chable http://www.verbier.ch/en/hebergements/bed-breakfast/index.php?idIndex=32
Phil, Bike Verbier
Hi Phil,
Thanks for your help! I found a nice and cheap B&B right near the bottom of the lift so nice and convenient. Sorry we didn't book with you guys, maybe next time. I have a flyer for the pump track challenge on my desk but didn't know about the cheese festival, double bonus 😀
We plan to do the Le Tour du Mont-Fort on one of the days but freestyle the downhills a bit to get more techy trails (I suspect the official route uses a bit too much fireroad). Do you happen to know which lifts on this map
are open?
Let me know on here if you fancy meeting for a beer saturday night.
Cheers,
Tim
Hi Tim,
The only lift open is from Verbier to Ruinette.
The tdmf is not that interesting and involves lots of fireroad.
If you are around on Saturday with a map, we can give you some good routes.
Will be at the cheese fest on Saturday so will see you there.
Hi Phil,
Thats good to know, thanks. We have just planned to maybe do the "Brazilian Trail" on Sunday and explore off the Ruinette lift on the Saturday.
This cheese festival looks like classic swiss comedy, looking forward to it, in particular the procession of "Farmers’ Wives from the Farmers’ calendar"!! Not sure how I would find you but keep an eye out for 3 lost looking english guys on Genius LTs.
Thanks again for the help, much appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim
