Motsuv, Snail, Tove or Deckas branded ones. Anyone used one? Thinking about trying an oval one and thought I'd ask for reviews first. Half the price of Superstar or AbsoluteBlack.

Depends whose design has been copied, standard of material and standard of production...

There's a lot going on in the design of an oval with the tooth profiles and clocking. If you have a cinch crank it's less of an issue as you can amend the timing quite a lot if you want. On a fourbolt though you're stuck with where the mfr puts the peak more or less.

Cheap rings are fine if they work for you, just concerned that you may not get the best result if you're hoping to find out 'if ovals are any good for you', they're not all the same by any means. I'm over the moon with my AbsoluteBlack and will probably replace all my rings with these as the existing rings wear out.

I've got a 32t round Snail one, lasting well and doesn't drop the chain.
