Having Googled, Googled and Googled some more I'm not much clearer on this...
I have a Garmin Edge 810 I want to charge from a dynamo/USB-WERK whilst in use:
+ If I connect the USB-WERK to the Edge whilst recording mid ride, the Edge loses the current ride record and starts a new one unless I pause, connect, cycle to charge the cache and then start recording. Odd.
+ The USB-WERK has a really small cache so if you're in hilly country and the dynamo output drops below cache charging level, the Edge auto offs within 15s unless you notice/intervene.
I want to be able to plug the Edge into the USB-WERK whilst merrily plodding along and not have to keep an eye on it to avoid losing the current record or stopping it auto offing. How do I do that please?
I use a bigger cache battery on my 810. If the battery runs out it says 15 seconds to shut down but doesn't start a new ride.
