Hey Guys,

Do any of you Charge Duster riders find the top tube short on your Duster?

I ride general trails on a Gary Fisher Rosecoe which has a nice stretched feeling but I need to get a second frame for the mrs that I will ride as my winter bike. I am 5ft 6 with a 29 inch inside leg. The guys at Charge reccomnend a small frame but having looked at the specs it seems very very short?

Owners feedback would be really great,

Thanks

Nick

nope mine feels great - 5 11 / 33 leg on a medium with a 90mm stem.

it's a lovely bike, really good through singletrack. Mates often 'suggest' I come on another bike as when I turn up on the duster they know its going to be a fast day.

Use it for XC racing too. Surprisingly it still gets comment from other riders at events too.

I would dearly love to upgrade to the ti version but no way am I paying that sort of money!

Maybe a little, I'm 5'11 and run a 100mm stem and a layback post, but it rides perfectly like that.

charge bikes don't quote the effective top tube.
i'm the same height as you and ride a small with layback post and 90mm stem.

DT78 i'm pretty much the same height and inside leg length as you; had a duster Ti for a while and it was the most uncomfortable bike I'd ever ridden. My lower back isn't terribly supple though so that may have been a factor. Didn't get on with the handling either, spent alot of time heading over the bars.

Oh, mine was a medium so I guess a small would be right for you.

Mine's a large and I run it with a 100m stem (i'm 6 foot tall with a long upper body). I find it pretty comfy.

seanoc - had you ridden the prestige tange version first or just straight onto the ti version?

handling wise, geometry has to be the same between the 2 so I'm comfortable with that. Some peope put a 120mm fork up front to make them more 'trail' I use mine for XC so more than happy with 100mm.

I did my fastest time round the twrch trail on it, way faster than my nomad.

No, went straight in for the Ti; my first and only (to date) forage into the stuff.

Ran 120mm forks on it and yes it was pretty quick; not as quick as a 26lb prophet around the Twch though?

Hmmmm, can't say I find my duster to be too stiff so must be frame material, maybe I'll try to get a test ride on one before getting one - was going to try and grab one second hand if I saw it. Thanks for the info!

Are you thinking about the new skinny frame?
