Hi all,
If I bought a 140mm Lyrik from 2016 (used), how easy is it to change to 170mm travel?
Is it just a new air shaft or are the dampers different lengths too?
Do I have to have the air spring to peices or is it pretty simple?
Any help much appreciated
Just an air shaft change. About £30 and takes about 10 minutes.
The service manual showing how is available from the SRAM website
I'm guessing the 140mm was custom made?
No idea, they are a used set advertised in the classifieds.
If you're at least reasonably competent with a set of tools and not too ham fisted it's fairly easy, just takes a bit of patience when it comes to taking the circlip that holds the shaft in place out (actually, patience is required putting it back) You will need some of the proper RS 0W-30 lower leg oil for rebuilding.
140mm is probably using a pike airshaft (160mm pike = 140mm Lyrik iirc)
Ordered them.
Can anyone help me out with where to buy a 650b 170mm air shaft?
I can find pike ones but not Lyrik
Its a pike 29 160mm / lyrik 170 650b shaft you need, sram part no 11.4018.026.002
£34.99 in stock at amazon. If you go to the end of the rockshox spares manual its all in there.
Thanks, what if I want 180mm?
11.4018.026.020
Though it shows lyrik b1 only, which the manual gives as a 16-17 RC model, not RCT3.
Wether or not it would actually work in another model would be another question, id look at the technical diagrams once you get the forks pulled apart.
I'm presuming this is the same one if I select 29 160mm as that lists 27.5 170mm and you can't actually get 170mm Pikes?
