As the title really, I've got a marble fire surround that is white/light Rey. Can't really afford to change it at the moment and it'd probably look nice if it was dark grey/black.

So does any one if it's possible to alter the colour at all? Don't really want to paint it though.

Hydrogen Chloride is exactly what you need. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We got some marble for the hearth, it was 'gravestone' shiny. I buffed it off so it looked like slate. If needed the Mason could get different dye's, didn't though.

Acid dye of some sort might work.

Why not paint? I spray painted mine to plain gloss black. Looks good.

Wasn't sure whether you would get a good enough finish with paint, or if it flake easily. Spose prepping is key though.

Maybe I should speak to a Mason though, hmmm....
