[Closed] Chainline gear issues question?

Built up my 2007/08 Marin Wolf Ridge but i am rubbish with gears set up. So i took it to my LBS who supplied a sealed gear cable system/fitted it and set the gears front/rear up. However on the job receipt it says "Big to small sprockets will rub due to design of frame". On trying this it does rub the front cage.

Now the chainset/bottom bracket was new Truvativ Stylo 3.3 , my BB shell is 68mm so i installed as per SRAM instructions a spacer at either side.

So is this acceptable, are they pulling the wool over my eyes, is it actually a chainline issue?. Can't seem to find any issues on Marin chainlines on google.

To be fair the LBS have always been good so i'm reluctant to think bad of them.

This will happen on any bike and it's common knowledge that you should not run there gears.

You're only duplicating other ratios
