Possibly a silly question... Won't be my first!

Need a chain whip that will work for the Langster's 1 1/8th cog as well as the 10speed on the MTB. Quick look on line and seems to either be ss whips or 9/10/11speed ones.

I know 1 1/8th is fatter but is it a case of the links being to fat to fit between the cassette cogs and wrap properly to work.

Don't fancy buying two whips tbh but of needs must and that.

Doesnt matter which you have , youll take your cassette of with either.

Highly suggest you get a high leverage one such as the park pro one for your ss cog.

As trial rat says. It doesn't matter. Just put the chain whip on the biggest sprocket then the chain size is irrelevant.

My home made whip is part comprised of an old Shimano 7spd chain, and it works fine on 7, 8, 9, 10 sped cassettes.

Mine is an ancient oil filter remover from Halfords in the dim and distant past but it has worked on every variation of cassette going back to 6spd and on to 10. Not tried it on 11 yet though!
