I'm switching to 1x9,first by taking off the big ring and fitting a bash but then I also need some kind of chain guide.

I've seen a few but I thought that since I am still using a triple chainset there might be something that bolts on to the granny ring bolts rather that a bb fixing one?

Any ideas?

You do realise cranks rotate right?

LOL.

Yeah but no but yeah I thought that something like bash guard but mounted on the inner would prevent chain coming off?

It would have to bigger then the middle ring, so wouldn't it catch on the frame?

Hmmm, maybe you're right. Didn't think of that - on my frame it wouldn't actually, chainstays are up high (superlight).

I'm currently running 1x9 on my Love/Hate, and I use a DMR Chain Cage and it all runs sweet for me.

There is an old type MRP guide which has guide plates on either side of the chain ring. If your frame has the 3 tapped holes round the BB you can fit a ISCG (or ISCG05) guide, otherwise a BB mount one will fit. You may have to remove the granny ring tabs on your crank depending on clearance.

superstar £17 effort works silently and faultlessly, and is very similar to the £50 e13/mrp one... weighs naff all too.
