Just discovered that our bump is going to be 2 little people rather than 1!! Now that the shellshock is wearing off...
..Suddenly all the practical things seem to be coming to the fore. My Seat Leon is not going to be big enough for 5, plus camping gear, plus bikes (even on a Pendle)
So recommend me a new motor - I was thinking that a Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra clone might be the way forward, or maybe an Espace - probably got about £5K - £6k to spend
Cheers
dont buy a "I've given up caring car", we have the same setup as you plus a biggish dog- we tried the Grand Voyager- but too pristine for my taste, - had the choice down to an old t class merc estate or Landcruiser- ended up with the latter- bullit proof for the last 50k, 30mpg no matter what you do with it, all 6 of us down to the alp every year- dead stable, comfy, and tough enough to not treat it like an ornament !
YMMV,,,,

Just bloody ace.
Touran, problem solved.
s-max. Not got one but on my list for when I need to replace my old car. Seats 7 or 5 plus a big boot. Handle well, cheap to run.
You're going to struggle to get one at £6k though

prolly over budget but we've just got a VW T5 Kombi Transporter. it's ace!
Not on your list, but get a Zafira! There is a good reason why you see so many on every school run. We changed our old Omega for one a year ago and LOVE it, honest. Two more seats in the boot, but even the middle row wil fit 3 child seats. lots of possibilities on seating arrangemets, which is great when I just take it with some friends and we put the bikes in the car. No too high to put bikes on the roof either, we have al 4 on the roof as our 5 year old model did not have a tow bar.
We have the older shape and paid £3700 @ 5 years old 68000m, dielsel top of the range and leather seats from 1st owners. They tend to go on the day on motortrader, so be quick or the dealers get it. You should be able to get a new shape one for your money, even more interior space I think. . .
Good luck with the crowded bump!
