[#7512294]

I've got alot of 26er parts and I'm looking at building a late spesh carbon enduro. I've seen a cracking deal at bikescene for a new carbon frame for £1200 but unluckily they've only got a small. I'm looking for a large or extra large and wandering if any of you guys have seen one in your lbs thanks. Chris

There's no XL 650b, and the Large is like a medium. How tall are you?

I'm 6.3 I've had a 04 sworks xl and 09sl xl and both have fitted well. I've got a 33 inner leg and long top half but I've got plenty of choice of stems to get a good fit and even on a large frame plenty of height with the Thompson dropper. In the old xl the dropper is almost fully down in frame so wouldn't look stupid raised a bit in a large frame.

The large will be far to small for you I'm afraid.

You could go 29er and get the XL, but theres no option on the 650b. The large is the same size as most medium bikes.

It's probably good for up to 6'1. But I felt like it was perfect for me at 5'11.

It was comfortable on a 50mm stem for me, I'm an inch shorter in the leg than you. So you're gonna be a good 3 inches taller in the body. I don't know how that'll translate into stem length, but I'd hate to put anything over 50mm on that bike.

If you're still keen, then definitely get a demo.

The OP is looking at a 26 inch model, not the current 650b. However it seems they only did a large in that frame/bike also so if the sizing is consistent you might be out of luck!

Not that small, is it? 443 reach isn't tiny - the TT is slightly short, but plenty bikes in the same class are shorter.

The reach is OK, but the ETT is 609. Plus the seat angle is pretty steep, so a long body will feel a bit crunched up.

It's definitely worth getting a demo is possible. The 26er from 2014 is the same geometry as the 650b, as its the same front triangle.

You mean like Santa Cruz, Pivot etc?

Yep, they're shorter. And I still wouldn't put a 6'3" person on a Large SC or Pivot. They'd need an XL at least.

Thanks for all the reply looks like I better get a leg over one and give it a try. I never even thought that would be a problem but thanks for pointing out.
