Coming back from a ride today i noticed this crack in the sole of my shoe (2011 giro gauge, bought in january this year from crc).

I'm not sure how it happened, my only guess is that i put my foot out a couple of times while turning and i could have hit it on a rock. I only noticed when i got home and brushed down the shoes.

My guess is that because the shoe didnt fall apart mid ride and that the crack is away from the cleat it shouldnt be subject to too much stress and it shouldnt grow. I'm thinking possibly fulling it with araldite and sanding the top down? Anyone had any similar problems?

from the 2nd picture it looks like it only the lacquer that has chipped off.

if its a genuine crack then possibly get in contact with the dealer/CRC

Looks like a crack though rather than just cosmetic.
They should warranty it for you though

Just washed all the muck off, looking at it now it does seem to be a crack, its fairly deep in some parts and some of the carbon layers look like they are flaking apart.
I'll take some better pictures and email crc, cheers guys!
