Thinking of getting a carbon seat post for the bling factor as much as weight saving but I'm one of these saddle up, saddle down types so was wondering if a carbon post is ideal if it's going to be tightened and loosend a few times per ride?
It will get scruffy quick thats for sure, not really for you in my opinion.
Ah but there is hope! Easton CNT carbon posts have the graphics reasonably high up the post and the adjustment scale that runs up the back of the post is on a flattened part of the tube. Meaning it doesnt get scratched. Does that make sense?
I have had black anodised seatposts in the past that look old and tatty after 1 wet ride. Imho the Easton still looks good after 18 months of uppy/downy use. The bit that gets slotted in the seat tube just looks a bit faded.
