Any decent value ones around? Salsa ones are about £500!

I was about to suggest the Travers Prong, but its tapered steerer.

Carboncycles do their Exotic fork in a '29er' size with a 49cm length in the spec, which I guess is the axle to crown length....would that be close enough?

Exotics look good. How "serious" is the weight limit?

I'm way under the weight limit but equally, I rode the bike in ways they probably didn't have in mind when they made the fork (there's not been that many rigid carreras on the innerleithen uplift truck I think), I believe it's still going strong in one of scotroutes' bikes. I'm sure it's there for good reasons but sometimes weight limits imply general punyness, not the case on these.
