OK, so I'm circa 17 stone, not a fat ****, think 6 foot rugby type bloke. Thinking about getting some 750 carbon bars for AM use (whatever that is...). Will they bend and ultimately snap under the immense stress of my muscular physique?

You might well diet, but I don't think you need to ๐Ÿ˜‰

You will have to diet if you don't want to snap them.

I've been up around that weight, and heavier (think meat head), and used carbon bars. I dieted and am now a skinny sub-15 stone. The carbon bars have been indifferent to my dieting.

I did go through wheels a lot when I was heavier though.

I'm the same as you, but a bit heavier ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn't snap the carbon bars I had (Answer Protaper Carbon's) but they did flex quite a lot and I feel much happier with the Alu Easton Havens that are now on.

Carbon Bars, are these like Power Bars, but low calorie versions?

Diet, Carbon, fat? That's one word away from a STW Bingo!
All it needs is tyres in the title for a full house!

It's a new reality show from legendary singer/song writer/producer/pillock Will.i.am or William, to everyone. Where he attempts to pick out the fat knackers from those 1 crackers/day in an attempt to get them back on track through an emotional journey with sad music and spirit raising montages. It's going to be great.

Carbon is very weak and not at all suitable for mountain bikes.

Yeah, they're a lighter alternative. You also can't chew them very much so end up giving up eating it.

So I can continue 'on the pies' until I hit circa 2000lbs? Thats about 140 Stone. Cool.
