I know this is pure flame bait...but:
I have £2-2.5k I intend to blow on a carbon 29er hardtail.
Short listed a Trek superfly, Cube Reaction GTC, Cube Elite, Canyon Grand Canyon and Rose Mr Big.
Does the hive mind have any Horror stories or recommendations on these? Struggled to find reviews of them.

unless you can wait till june, forget the canyon
Cube are great VFM, trek not so but nice bike, not particularly light at that price though.
Build your own?
On one carbon frame for instance, RS xx SID, full xtr groupset and nice light wheeset for about 2.5k, plus carbon finishing kit
