Hi my 2016 supersix evo has the dreaded BB30 clicking noise, was going to remove it this weekend but noticed it has PF30 in there, can i remove this and and press some bearings directly into frame as BB30 should be ???
The bearings are the same as used on BB30 except they are pressed into a separate, bigger diameter housing - you might be able to replace the bearings only if you can carefully remove them without distorting the housing.
Ok really want to do away with PF30 altogether so if i buy some BB30 bearings and circlips these should go straight in?? Will i need any additional spacers on the cranks ??
You can't do away with PF30, unless you change to an adapter and new crank. You just need a new PF30 Bottom bracket, they come as a set with bearing/holder. They're no more 'dreaded' than any other BB, all BB systems have their problems. The best is Chris King but obviously one of the most expensive.
Ok thanks for your help i just assumed that i could press bearings straight into frame as it was BB30
ha just checked original specs it has a PF BB30 so ive answered my own question really sorry and thanks guys
