[#5501001]

Im looking for a frame to build up as a hack and have come across this..........

http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1422931/

Its meant to be a carrera vengeance frame but Im not sure what age it is as all the pics I have seen of them none of them have v brake mounts?

Trying to find out what seat post diameter etc it has as the buyer is a bit vague

Any ideas??

Cheers

Steve

Doesn't look like a Vengeance to me!!

Google pictures of them and all the frames you'll see are disc only and have a small brace between the set tube and top tube. Most likely a repainted Kraken or Vulcan from a few years ago.

Looks like a vulcan from about 7+ years ago to me. 30 quid, meh I bought an 08 cube reaction frame for that this year.

Looks like a Brand X model that was made by Carrera for them back in the day...my mate had a black one that cost him £70 for the frame back then...to be honest i think its overpriced!

Looks like a Vulcan V-spec, as far as I can recall there's never been a v-braked Vengeance. But that doesn't really matter, same spec level, surprisingly nice handling frames. Worth £30 normally, but not with that paint job...

Looks like a Vulcan V spec frame from 2009. I have one, nice frame. I just paid £34.83 for a 2010 fury frame.

I could always rub it down and piant it after all its only for a commuter bike.

Any ideas on the seat tube size etc?

What about a GT Avalanche frame would that be better?

For another £20, a cheap Inbred would be a better option IMO.
You can always shift an Inbred.
That said, I'm building a commuter around a Carrerra Subay frame & forks I picked up cheap...

The anodised dull grey finish is ideal for a commuter.

Looks a lot like my Kraken frame, but with V bosses.

Looks very similar to a 2008 Kraken frame that I have, except mine is black.

Good frame if so, Kraken frames are very under rated imo.
