a light but strong bike??

im having a bike made for me from 853. Its going to look lush and will be used regularly, BUT i want it fairly light but also very strong.

i wont be puting carbon bars on and it will be run ss.

Money is a slight issue but will take longer the more expensive parts are.

Cheap. Light. Strong
Pick any two.

Why no carbon bars? Lighter, stronger, stiffer, better vibration damping than alloy. Seems an obvious place to lose a few grams.

You can, if you're patient and put a bit of thought into it. Secondhand parts.

Personally, I'd prefer to drag an extra pound round than find out at 30mph on some downhill, that I'd gone too lightweight.
That said, I gave an old Soul a good battering & it held together perfectly. And I'm 16st.

mincing around the woods

I like the sound of this new niche category. ๐Ÿ™‚
Will I have to adopt a camp persona to fit in ?
