Does it work?? Can't seem to find much on google....... just wondered if there would be any problems.
Any help much appreciated
Cheers
In theory yes, but i think Hope's rotors are size in inches (203/183/160), where as formula are metric (200/180/160) if they're post mount through, yoo could also use Hope adaptors.
I've used floaters with Avids, and Shimano without problems
Hi, you CAN get 180mm hope floating rotors (check merlincycles or wiggle), these will be the right diameter for Formula brakes (not the usual and more popular 183 versions). HOWEVER!! I had to file down about 1mm one side of the calipers (the rounded bit where the bolts go through) on my The One 2010 as the "buttons" (rivets) on the hope rotors were hitting/rubbing when spinning. I even had to (though not related to the brakes) file down one the bottom post mount on my fork for the same reason (I didn't want to use an axle spacer to spread the fork legs further appart - that would have worked too). I didn't have this issue at the rear but still had to file down the rear caliper too. My setup is: Fox 36RC2 2009 post mount, Crossmax SX 09 wheels, Formula the one 2010, 180mm hope saw floating rotors at both ends.
So if you have a similar setup then yes, it's possible if you're willing to file down £200+ brakes. Had I known this I probably would've stuck to standard rotors and not risk it but it is possible.
I hope this info helps.
JM 🙂
