Ok, so I need to either get my reverb B1 dropper serviced or replace it with a trusty Brand X.
It’s presently on my sons bike and he is super light, around 40kg, he has been struggling to get the post to drop, so I’ve dropped the pressure from 250 to 150psi, is this okay, I’ve not seen any recommendations to drop the pressure for lighter riders?
It could be a rebleed of the hose with speed adjuster set in slow position(change this to fastest position after bleed to make dropping post easier) could help because if there is some air held in it ,it will not be able to open the valve in the main post fully therefore restricting flow-slowing down/ making dropping the post harder.
Could also additionally be that the post is indeed in bad shape and needs internal lubing/replacing bushings.
Up the pressure, put it in its low position and tell him its sorted.
You can find out if the James Bond ejection seat is actually a possibility 👿
Bin it would be my advice.
Bleed, making sure speed adjuster is correct during this and afterwards. If that does work and it just keeps going slow, then switch to WolfTooth cable remote.
Though is spendy and so could just be sunk cost and bin is the better option
Bled today, lots of air in it. All seems to be working fine at 150psi, but a bit sticky, probably bushes…so will leave it at that for now and give it a service sometime soon
Sell it on eBay and buy a brand x.
