My BB is 2 rides old. Yesterday it was sounding absolutely horrible. I assume its either not gone in square or that when I cleaned the shell out I did a poor job. If I try and knock it out and refit will I likely just make everything worse? I have no proper removal tool so was going to buy one if its likely to be reusable otherwise I'll use my home made removal tool and buy a new BB - its just after a total of 25miles it feels rather wasteful.
Tap it out then re-fit, nothing to lose by trying...except a little bit of time?
(assuming cranks all correctly torqued etc)
I have knocked mine out and re-used it a few times without issue, just do it gently and try to keep as much impact on the outer race as possible.
If it can be removed without damaging the bearings (avoid hitting the inner race) then no reason it can’t be re-used
Got the correct spacers on the cranks?
How do the bearings feel with the cranks removed?
