Might seems daft question but can I? I seem to think there's some connectivity with the app on my phone so if he tries to use it whilst my phone isn't there, will the bike stop working? It's a Levo 4 BTW.

Gen 3s here. Had no problem with lending our out. However they know if they break it the repairs are down to them.
Done it with Abigales whilst she's in NZ

No problem riding without the phone.
I've stopped lending stuff though, it never gets treated with respect, or returned in a timely manner, whatever it might be

It'll be fine, I rarely connect my bike to my phone, it thinks I've only done 3 rides on it.
