Just going to order some new road cranks and the ones on are 172.5mm but CRC (best price) only have 170 or 175. Will I notice any change in riding?

I've got 172s on 2 bikes and 170s on the other. Deffo notice the difference.. 170 feels a little "cramped" but no problems with hill climbing etc. There's some calculation you can do to work out the correct length based on your true inside leg. It lives in the internet somewhere and I'll try and find it.

I'd say yes. 5mm makes a massive difference between my road bike and mtb - so I'd say 2.5 would.

172.5 on my daily commuter, and 170 on my 'posh' road bike and mtb, and I can't tell the difference.

no difference at all here. But once I noticed that I'd bought 170mm road cranks instead of 175, then I hated them and had to sell them (been on the bike about 6 months at the time)
