Thinking of doing the c2c but off-road as much as possible and more or less following hadrians wall ,planning on it been a three day trip as jnr ( my 12 year old son) will be coming with me and going to bivi it along the way .Does anyone know of any decent routes ?

You could get some OS maps and see what you can string together from bridleways and some of the forestry roads but you may find it hard to follow the path of the wall directly for long off-road AFAIK. There's the sustrans route 10 / 72 which avoids the busiest roads as an option

Seriously do yourself a favour and do one of the other c2c routes ..there really is nothing that follows the wall..and drivers on the military road which sits on top of the wall for long stretches go at motorway speeds ( I know this as I use it regularly..and I'm one of them )

You might as well follow the sustrans Reivers route. Not bang on the Wall obvs.
