Does anyone have any experience of running these as a helmet light? Looking for something to compliment my Maxx D and these look good value.

Thanks Swiss, would you say they look small enough to use on the helmet?

I bought the 1200 last week and its ideal to mount on your head. I bought the extra waterproof battery kit which comes with the helmet mount and the extension cable so that you can fit the battery into your camelbak and just run the cable up to your helmet. I had to cable tie the cable to the back of my helmet to stop it flapping around and now its perfect. I just run it on its own without bar light and it seems plenty bright enough for me.

The Velcro hemlet mount thing is a bit of a faff to get on and off so I just leave mine on and remove the light when I don't need it.
Good service from c and b seen, mine arrived the day after ordering and fully charged ready to use.

I've got a "1200" C & B Seen light.

Also check out the Solar Storm X2 - from lightmalls.com and lots of ebay sellers its quite low profile so works well as a helmet light

I run it on my bars, the light pattern is reasonably spotty so it would make a good helmet light.

The supplied mounts are a bit rubbish but its easy enough to unscrew them and attach something else instead.

I use a hope clamp for the bars and a cateye one for the helmet.

My Bruv has a CREE XM-L T6 LED 1200 Lumen Bike Light & Headlamp Kit and runs this along with a Maxx D and rates it very highly.
Nice colour in blue too 🙂

^^^^^ that'll be me. I found the weight ok, but the mount was too high and i kept hitting trees with it.

just ordered one of the 1200 lumen kits, should be a bit of an improvement over my current 150 lumens!

I've got one and reckon that it's pretty good for the money - no doubt there are better lights but for £53 delivered, you can't really go wrong.

The customer service is first class - I had an issue with a dodgy light and it was resolved super quickly.

The battery seems to last ages too - I started to worry when the switch went blue then amber last week so cut my ride short. I left the light on and it lasted for a long time, even on red.

Just bought a set of these lights. What sort of run time are people getting on full beam? Tried running mine the other day on full power and the red light came on within an hour :-/ Just running them down now to flat and recharging to see if they improve.

I've got one and it is a little high mounted but just take that in to account when ducking.

Great light though.

I'm really impressed by the lights after one outing. Just trying to work out the real life run time. So far today I've had the helmet light running on full power for 4 hours and it's still going strong. Bar light switched off after 2 3/4 hrs on full. Just the power indication on the bar one seems all over the place. Indicated it was down to 15% after only an hour. Would catch me out on a ride if it does that.

They work well long term too. I think I bought mine October 2013 and it's still going strong as a commuter light. It's been used between 2 and 6 hours a week since then.

I have the 1200 in green and very pleased. I fitted the diffuser lens and the beam is great. The lights arrived next day and the bloke was very helpful when I called with some questions.

Well there we go. The helmet mounted light lasted 5 hrs 20 mins on full power. Very impressed by that. It would seem unlike the bar light it only has a green then red indicator. So when I thought it was about to die the other night it actually meant it was at 70% and had another 3 hours left!

I have had one for three years and it has been excellent. Mind you I bought it when they were just in eBay without their own website and so were cheaper.
