Haven't tried the butt fender, but I have their new rear fender that mounts on the seat post and that does what it says on the tin. I've only had one ride with it so far where there was mud about, not quite a mud bath just yet but there were several muddy sections that splashed it about all over but virtually nothing on my butt or backpack (or the reverb for that matter) so it seems to do the job. And as a bonus it weighs about the same as a very light thing and can be fitted/removed in seconds with a velcro strap.

I've got one, its ok, so long as your not looking for compleat cover. It will keep your butt dryish! Worth throwing in the bag just in case
